Programs for the school:
Academics - ECS - Grade 1-3
Music Program - Learning a variety of instruments and public performances.
Early Intervention - A variey of opportunities for all the children.
P.U.F. Program - Handling all the learning difficulties for students who are 3 years 6 months to 6 years old.
Early Literacy Programs - Students practice skills needed to be an independent reader.
Home Reading - Just Read Program each child is encouraged to read at home for 15 minutes every day. Parents and/or student records books read in a reading log. Student celebrations like Milk and Cookie Day and Tropical Day occur when we reach reading goals.
Resource Room - This Learning program is for grade 2 and 3 students with an identified need in Reading, and Writing.

Physical Education-Physical Daily Activity - Learning program.
The basic program at Vera M. Welsh School provides 322 minutes of instruction each day. Alberta Learning recommends the following allocations as guidelines:
