Scenario 1: In-school classes

Vera M. Welsh School believes that students must be able to listen, speak, read, view, write and represent in order to be successful in both school and life. Vera M. Welsh School uses a Balanced Literacy Approach and programming is designed to meet the needs of each student. Teachers provide individualized reading instruction to students through small group guided reading and writing. In addition, in-class literacy support with an additional teacher is offered. Reading Intervention is a pull- out program where students receive individual reading instruction for 30 minutes per day taught by a trained educational assistant.
